Monica Farassat, Psy.D., LMFT, CGP is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Certified Group Therapst. She has treated numerous individuals, couples, and groups with a wide range of concerns since 1988. Presently her private practice is located in Santa Monica, California.

 

Additionally, she has, for several years, served as the director of admissions at The Saturday Center for Psychotherapy, an intensive psychodynamically oriented internship program. She is in charge of the interviewing process and admittance of new interns. She also supervises interns and leads the process group as a learning experience for the interns.

 

Her additional training, and clinical experience include the psychodynamic psychotherapy programs at Psychoanalytic Center of California, Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, AIDS Project L.A., Thailians Early Childhood Center, Los Angeles Free Clinic, and the study of group relations.She has lead many parent groups through the course of PET (Parent Effectiveness Training), has extensive experience in leading interpersonal and psychoeducational groups, and has been trained in various institutes in the field of group psychotherapy. She has special interest and passion in leading groups, and continues her training in the field of individual and group psychotherapy.

 

She is a member of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family therapy, AKRI, a leadership institute in group relations; GPALA (GroupPsychotherapy Association of L.A.); and AGPA (American Group Psychotherapy Association).
